$37 – $125 max / owner
The US court has granted a $1.1 billion preliminary settlement in a class action lawsuit against Toyota Motor North America in which about 19 million current and former Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles owners are represented. The potential settlement will effect vehicles from model year 2008 to 2010.
Toyota will pay $37 – $125 maximum per owner in cash, install proper breaking systems in those vehicles and spend a whopping $30,000 in various educational and safety programs.
If your Toyota, Lexus or scion vehicle has an unintended acceleration or other problems please call our office as soon as possible for a free consultation. For the most part a $37 to $125 settlement is not enough. Some consumers might be better of if they withdraw from the class and file a separate lemon law claim.
The CA Lemon Law
The California lemon law was designed to protect consumers who have purchased or lease a defective new vehicle under the manufacturer’s warranty. No consumer should suffer in the hands of a defective vehicle which the automaker itself cannot fix within a reasonable number of repair attempts. Pursuant to the CA Lemon Law, our clients receive a refund of their down payment, monthly payments and any cost associated with having and operation a lemon vehicle. Our Toyota, Lexus and Scion cases settle in thousands of dollars going back to the consumer!
